Ensis Partners (“Ensis”), a boutique investment bank focused on restructuring advisory and capital solutions, today announced that Aseem Khurana has joined the firm as an Associate. Khurana brings restructuring and credit experience spanning complex liability management transactions, in- and out-of-court restructurings, financings and other strategic situations.
Khurana was previously at Houlihan Lokey, where he was an Associate in the firm’s Financial Restructuring practice and advised companies and creditors across a range of restructuring and liability management situations, including transactions involving Quest Software, 2U, Guitar Center and LivePerson. His experience includes developing tailored capital structure analyses and solutions, facilitating negotiations among companies, lenders and other stakeholders.
“Aseem is a strong addition to our team as we continue to thoughtfully expand the depth and capabilities of the Ensis platform,” said Mark Buschmann, Co-Founder and Partner at Ensis Partners. “As market conditions continue to challenge highly leveraged borrowers and impact their stakeholders, we believe Aseem’s highly relevant experience with such situations is particularly compelling to our clients navigating complex circumstances. Attracting top-tier talent like Aseem reaffirms our successful launch and the Ensis vision.”
Prior to Houlihan Lokey, Khurana spent several years at Bank of America across its Global Corporate and Investment Banking and Global Risk Management businesses.
“As Ensis deepens its bench and continues to grow, we are focused on adding professionals who combine rigorous technical capabilities with the judgment and collaborative mindset required to address increasingly intractable situations,” said Richard Shinder, Co-Founder and Partner at Ensis Partners. “Aseem has worked across the company and creditor sides of complex restructurings and brings a strong grounding in both restructuring and credit. That sophisticated transactional experience will be particularly valuable as borrowers confront an increasingly volatile financing environment and seek specialized advice tailored to their specific capital structures and situational dynamics.”
“It’s a privilege to join Ensis, which offers differentiated expertise that financially challenged companies require,” said Khurana. “The opportunity to work alongside an experienced team while helping companies and stakeholders navigate consequential situations was extremely compelling. I look forward to working with the team to provide the practical, actionable advice that Ensis has quickly become known for.”
Khurana earned an M.B.A. from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and a B.A. in Economics with high honors from the University of California, Berkeley.
