Reverse Logistics Group (RLG) has launched an updated version of its mail-back portal for consumers across the United States.
ISELIN, NJ, UNITED STATES, August 19, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Reverse Logistics Group (RLG) by Reconomy has launched an updated version of its mail-back portal, giving consumers across the United States a simpler, faster way to recycle electronic devices. The update marks the next step in RLG’s ongoing efforts to make manufacturer take-back programs easier to access and administer across North America.
The mail-back portal enables consumers to request free shipping labels to return end-of-life electronics for responsible recycling. RLG administers the portal on behalf of major electronics brands and state-mandated group plans, supporting producer compliance obligations.
A New Interface Built Around Consumer Experience and Compliance
The updated portal introduces a cleaner user experience, designed to improve how the portal looks to consumers and match the modern design language of electronics brands.
The mail-back portal was originally designed to provide an easy-to-implement solution for companies looking to build upon their sustainability initiatives, comply with electronics requirements under Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) laws, or both. The refreshed platform retains the same functionality while updating the user interface to match the clean, tech-forward, and functional user interfaces that consumers have become accustomed to.
“Our goal in refreshing the mail-back portal is to meet the needs of producers and their customers while ensuring a seamless experience for both,” said Brad Wright, RLG Executive Vice President, Americas.
The Regulatory Landscape: US and Canada
Electronics take-back requirements in the US and Canada are governed at the state and provincial level rather than nationally. In the US, roughly 25 states plus DC have enacted electronics EPR or manufacturer take-back laws, split between manufacturer-funded models (Maryland, Washington, New York) and consumer-fee models (California’s SB 50), with some states like Washington, Oregon, and Vermont further mandating convenient collection points.
In Canada, nearly every province and territory now runs a mandatory electronics EPR program, typically administered through Producer Responsibility Organizations, with Ontario’s shift to individual producer responsibility under the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority (RPRA) as a notable model. In both countries, covered products, funding structures, and reporting obligations vary by jurisdiction.
