New activity hub enhances the venue’s transformation and expands recreation opportunities for events
GILROY, CA, UNITED STATES, August 12, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Hecker Pass Outdoor Events Center has officially commenced construction on “The Yard,” a major guest-facing capital improvement and part of the venue’s ongoing transformation into one of Northern California’s premier outdoor gathering destinations.
The Yard represents a visible milestone in a series of enhancements planned for the Hecker Pass venue. Designed to complement the property’s expansive outdoor gathering spaces, The Yard will provide guests with new opportunities to connect, play, and create lasting memories during corporate picnics, festivals, community celebrations, overnight camp experiences, nonprofit events and private gatherings.

When completed, The Yard will feature:
• Multi-Use Sport Court that can be used as a full basketball court, two pickleball courts, or for volleyball or badminton.
• Two Bocce Courts featuring a Pacific Pearl surface, a high-performing, all-weather playing surface designed for consistent play.
• Multi-Purpose Lawn Area with options for two horseshoe pits, two bag toss courts, four tetherball stations, and space for a variety of additional lawn games and activities.
The Yard has been thoughtfully designed to give event organizers another way to elevate the guest experience. Whether serving as the centerpiece of a company picnic, encouraging team building during a corporate retreat, creating friendly competition at a family reunion, or providing recreational activities during a festival or overnight camp, the flexible space will allow organizers to customize experiences that extend beyond traditional event programming.
Hecker Pass Outdoor Events Center has selected California-based Court Builders Northern California to complete the project.

Construction of The Yard is part of a broader investment in Hecker Pass Outdoor Events Center as the venue continues its multi-phase transformation. Additional guest amenities, gathering spaces, and other improvements are planned to further establish Hecker Pass as a premier destination for outdoor events in Northern California.
