LP Building Solutions (LP), a leading manufacturer of high-performance building products, has awarded a record 104 scholarships to the children of team members for the 2026–2027 academic year, marking the 25th anniversary of the LP Scholarship Program. The milestone brings LP’s total scholarship investment to more than $3 million since 2001 and extends five consecutive years of program growth.
The 2026 class includes 46 first-time recipients and 58 renewing scholars pursuing undergraduate degrees and vocational or technical education across North America. Each scholarship provides up to $10,000 over four years to support full-time studies at an accredited college, university, or vocational/technical school.
“Investing in people has always been one of LP’s greatest strengths, and that commitment extends beyond our team members to the families who support them,” said LP CEO Jason Ringblom. “For 25 years, this program has helped open doors for the next generation, and we’re proud to recognize these students as they continue their education. Their achievements reflect the commitment to continuous learning, determination, and excellence that have long shaped our company.”
Since 2001, LP has awarded nearly 2,000 scholarships worth more than $3 million. This year’s class represents the company’s largest annual investment to date, with more than $250,000 awarded to support higher education for the children of team members.
Administered by Scholarship America, the LP Scholarship Program evaluates applicants based on academic performance, leadership, community involvement, work experience, and financial need.
“Receiving the LP Scholarship is an incredible honor,” said Kathryn Playford, a junior at the University of Regina and daughter of LP Swan Valley Plant Operations Superintendent Troy Playford. “Beyond the financial support, it represents encouragement, recognition, and the freedom to continue pursuing my education. The support I’ve received through both this scholarship and my internship experience has made LP feel like family, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the company’s investment in my future.”
For many students, the program also reflects LP’s broader commitment to supporting its team members both at work and at home.
“The LP Scholarship Program has given me the opportunity to attend college while lightening the financial burden on my parents,” said Jamarus Norwood, a freshman at Alabama A&M University and son of LP Clarke County Structural Solutions/FlameBlock Lead Jamarus Norwood Sr. “LP is a family-focused company that makes a real difference in the lives of not only its team members but also their children.”
The LP Scholarship Program is one of several ways LP invests in the long-term growth and development of its team members and their families. Through its Tuition Assistance Program, LP also covers 100% of eligible education expenses (up to the IRS maximum) for U.S. and Canadian team members enrolled in qualified degree or vocational programs.
The company also operates the LP TradesBuilder™ program, which prepares participants for careers as licensed technicians, electricians, and millwrights through two-to-four-year apprenticeships that combine online coursework through Penn Foster Career School with hands-on experience at LP facilities. In 2025, LP expanded the program by allowing eligible team members to self-enroll in approved trades programs and receive Tuition Assistance Program reimbursement, increasing flexibility while continuing to support long-term career development.
