LOS ANGELES, Sept. 16, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Kindred House Media is proud to announce the World Premiere of Life Listens to Julia, the compelling second episode of the Life Listens docuseries, screening online at the prestigious 16th Annual Catalina Film Festival from Saturday, September 25 through Sunday, September 26th, 2026. Directed by filmmaker G. K. Hunter (PBS’s Sakura & Pearls: Healing from WWII) and produced by Lena Antoci (Life Listens Docuseries), this short documentary tells the poignant true story of Southern California Native, Julia Paulus. After facing devastating adversity early in life following the loss of her mother, she finds herself responsible for her grieving, alcoholic father. But amidst her childhood turmoil, Julia found her sole sanctuary at Catalina Island Camps where she attended throughout her teens. The film follows her journey into adulthood as she returns to the island as a camp counselor, ultimately partnering with mentor Lena Antoci who helps her to reframe her struggles and manifest her dreams.
