Voltaren Arthritis Pain Gel today launched Ticket to Relief, a national consumer education campaign featuring actor, author and golf enthusiast Brian Baumgartner as Voltaren’s Lead Relief Caddie. The campaign makes arthritis joint pain education more approachable, connecting people with information and management options that can help them stay engaged in the activities they love.

Golf continues to grow in popularity, with nearly 50 million Americans expected to play this year,1 but even fans can put in serious mileage: following the action at a tournament can mean walking up to seven miles.2 For people living with arthritis pain – which affects approximately one in five U.S. adults3 – joint pain and stiffness can make it harder to stay active and enjoy experiences like attending a golf outing.

Just as a caddie helps golfers navigate the course, Ticket to Relief helps consumers navigate their joint-pain journey, providing practical information, educational resources and expert guidance along the way.

The campaign also highlights how, unlike other topicals that numb, heat or cool the pain, Voltaren penetrates deep through the skin to the joint to deliver targeted arthritis pain relief. Voltaren provides temporary relief of joint pain in the hands, wrists, elbows, feet, ankles and knees.

“Ticket to Relief brings education and support directly to fans in a setting where movement is central to the experience,” said Peter Song, Brand Director, Pain, Haleon. “By helping people better understand arthritis joint pain and how Voltaren provides targeted relief, we hope to help them stay present for more of the activities and moments they enjoy.”

Brian Baumgartner Serves as Voltaren’s Relief Caddie

As Voltaren’s lead Relief Caddie, Baumgartner will bring his enthusiasm for golf and comedic perspective to the campaign, exploring the realities of living with arthritis joint pain. Through digital and social content, media interviews and live, interactive moments, he will explore how pain can affect movement and participation while connecting consumers with practical educational resources and support.

“A good caddie does more than carry a bag – they help you understand what is ahead and keep you focused on the game,” said Baumgartner. “That is what I like about Ticket to Relief. It makes conversations about joint pain easier to understand and reminds people that pain does not have to define the activities and experiences they enjoy.”

Ticket to Relief Debuts at the FM Championship

Ticket to Relief will make its live debut at the FM Championship, taking place August 27-30 at TPC Boston, bringing arthritis joint pain education directly to fans as they follow the action across the course. As an official sponsor of the tournament and the presenting sponsor of Friday’s play, Voltaren will bring the campaign to fans on-site.

On Friday, August 28, Baumgartner will join licensed physical therapists from Strength and Sport PT to serve as Voltaren Fan Relief Caddies, providing attendees with arthritis joint-pain education, answering questions and distributing product samples.

Expert Guidance for Navigating Arthritis Joint Pain

Ticket to Relief features expert guidance from Leada Malek, PT, DPT, CSCS, SCS, the campaign’s physical therapy expert, to help consumers better understand joint pain and when to seek professional care.

“Persistent joint pain or stiffness that affects everyday movement deserves attention,” said Dr. Malek, PT, DPT, CSCS, SCS. “Tracking when pain occurs, how long it lasts and which activities affect it can help people have a more informed conversation with a healthcare professional.”
