GLEN ALPINE, NC – Authorities have charged two individuals in connection with the deaths of two people whose remains were found near a nature trail in Simpson Park within a five-day span.

The Burke County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrests on Friday. The investigation began on October 20, when a second set of human remains was discovered. This discovery followed the initial finding of human remains on October 15. Both sets of remains were located near a nature trail in Simpson Park in Glen Alpine.

According to officials, the Burke County Sheriff’s Office is investigating both deaths as homicides. The identities of the deceased have not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.

The two individuals charged are Dustin Ray Dellinger, 38, and Brittany Nicole Wright, 30. Both have been charged with one count of murder. Their bond information and court dates were not immediately available.
